Memorials

OUR VISION
Wooling Hill Memorial Garden Estate Pty Ltd was formed by a group of people who were concerned about the lack of real alternatives for people wanting to memorialise family and friends they have lost. Their belief in the importance of events that are meaningful to people; that celebrate and commemorate; and that build lasting memories, resulted in the development of Wooling Hill Memorial Garden Estate.

We aspire to have people leave Wooling Hill looking forward to the future with hope and optimism.
This will be possible because they have farewelled their past in a way that reflects the individuality of every person and every relationship.
Wooling Hill is a new Mt Macedon garden. People will find comfort in the serene and intimate spaces, pleasure in being nestled in a rural valley, and inspiration from the views to the distant horizons.

Wooling Hill Estates beautiful, tranquil gardens are a wonderful place of rest for our loved ones and those who have played a significant part in our lives and those of our family.
Creating a memorial is permanent acknowledgement of a loved one’s life and influence for future generations.

We offer you the opportunity to choose a memorial that you feel will express the character and personality of your beloved partner or family member, the person who has passed away, and be suitably enscribed and mounted in your chosen part of our memorial gardens.

OUR VALUES

  • Of prime importance to us is our relationship with people; including those who come to Wooling Hill, those who work for us and those with whom we have business relationships.
  • We will be trustworthy, ethical and professional.
  • We will demonstrate our integrity and sensitivity by understanding client families’ needs to reflect before making decisions and we will encourage individual expressions of celebration and commemoration.
  • We will be good neighbours and community citizens by using local suppliers and supporting community activities consistant with our vision and purpose.
  • Wherever possible, we will improve our immediate and district environments by a responsible use of energy, recycled materials and water. We will continue to replace tree cover and minimise the use of sprays and chemicals.
  • We will be innovative in celebration, commemoration, events and work practices.
  • We acknowledge that this is a long term commitment, therefore we provide ‘reserve’ funds for the long term care and maintenance of the estate along with ongoing development of the site.

SERVICE PHILOSOPHY

Wooling Hill’s Service Philosophy is to provide individual reponses to your individual needs, with unobtrusive empathy to the emotions that accompany the significant event that is occuring in your life.

Our focus is on the people involved and not on buildings, plaques or other elements. Our staff are trained in dealing with grief, demonstrating through their behaviour and sensitivity Wooling Hill’s commitment to the needs of the families involved.
Our staff will deliver as much or as little as you need to organise an individual service, interment or event. We involve the families in the plans and events, organising around you rather than you around us. During its design and construction, Wooling Hill deliberately avoided laying row upon row of bleak, sterile concrete, choosing rather to keep faith with its rural heritage by creating a softer look to the paths and gardens.

Our rural heritage dates back to the early Gisborne settlers and includes the “Heritage listed” original Robertson Family cemetery complete with post and rail fencing.

MEMORIAL CHOICES

Creating a memorial for someone close to you is deeply personal and highly individual. Choosing a memorial is an important decision and is often made at a difficult and sensitive time. For this reason most people prefer it to be a lifelong decision.

Wooling Hill offers only perpetual tenure, with no 25-year time limit on client Memorials. This guarantees peace of mind for families who will never be confronted with a request to pay for further tenure. At Wooling Hill we say “memories are forever” – which is as it should be.

Wooling Hill allows the opportunity for you to choose a memorial that expresses the character and personality of the person who has passed away.

Soft Choice
Scattering cremated remains symbolises freedom and peace with nature for those passed away.
Prices start at $250 (inc GST) includes

  • A two line entry in the “Celebrations of Life Memorial Book”
  • Assistance from a Wooling Hill staff member if required

Although scattering is common and quite popular, there is frequently a feeling of disappointment in that the family has no future focal point to remember their loved one. We find that a better option is to scatter only a portion of the ashes and create a permanent memorial with the balance. This fulfils the wish to be scattered but also provides the family with the option of creating a lasting, personal memorial.

Evergreen Memories
A focal point to remember and reflect on a person and their life is important for friends, family, and future generations.
A memorial with a personalised message in the garden of Ever Green Memories provides a tangible symbol to connect with someone no longer with you and celebrate their life forever. (Designated areas only.)

Reflections of Life
A flowering shrub or small bush depicts a living memory. You can dedicate one of the many flowering bushes, old fashioned roses or small shrubs at Wooling Hill to someone special. It may be a plant that was a particular favourite of that person’s or one that reflects something about the personality.

OF STONE & WOOD

A dignified symbol of life – the past and future. Your memories may be captured by one of the many flourishing trees or rocks of granite at Wooling Hill. As long lasting and unique as memories themselves, placing memorials amongst one of Wooling Hill’s stands of trees is also an option.
